Punjab lies in the northwest of the country.The major districts under this region are Ludhiana, Bhatinda, Mohali, Sangrur and Patiala. Districts like Amritsar, Pathankot etc.It is surrounded on the north by the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, on the east by Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, on the south by Haryana and Rajasthan, and on the west by Pakistan

ECONOMIC GROWTH:
Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of Punjab and forms the backbone of the state economy. The principal industries include the manufacture of textiles, sewing machines, sporting goods, starch, fertilizers, bicycles, scientific instruments, electrical goods, and machine tools, and the processing of sugar and pine oil. 
About 2/5th of population of Punjab occupies itself with agriculture accounting to a major segment of gross product of state. Punjab has a significant portion of food grain production in India .There is adequate irrigation facilities provided to the cultivated area, state of Punjab is ranked to be one of the most irrigated regions. The major source of irrigation here are canals and wells owned by the Government.Punjab is scarce in fossil fuels and therefore, it draws energy basically from thermal plants being fired with coal. There is a large amount of power provided by the hydroelectric plants and solar power stations to a small extent.The Punjab sector has services including trade, storage, transportation, financial services, public administration, real estate and other services.Punjab produces about 70% of best cotton quality in the country. One of the primary disadvantages here is merely 1.5% spindlage capacity in the country. The sugar mills of Punjab are situated at Batala, Bhogpur, Gurdaspur, Phagwara, Zira, Nawanshahr, Morinda, Dhuri, Rakhra, Fazilka etc.The basic mover of Punjab economy is its resources basically energy and the minerals.The Punjab state is famous for its culture, cuisine and interesting history. Tourism sector also contributes a lot to Punjab's economy growth.

The two main airports in Punjab are in Amritsar and Ludhiana, which are well-connected to Delhi.Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport is an international airport about 11 kilometres  northwest of the city of Amritsar, India. It is located on the Amritsar-Ajnala Road, near the village of Raja Sansi.


BY MEANS OF RAIL:
We can  easily get trains from Chandigarh and Amritsar which run till Delhi, and then you will get connecting trains that connect to almost all the cities of the country.

BY MEANS OF ROAD:
