MYSORE is one of the most enchanting cities which is famous for its heritage and many magnificent monuments and buildings.It is considered the richest among the tradition which richness in spices store etc. It was the capital city of the Kingdom of Mysore. Dynasties change, but the city remained the capital city for almost six centuries and hence, saw development in all phases of time. Affectionately called as the city of Palaces, Mysore has quarantined the entire history and the times it saw. It is the third most populated and largest city.It is spread across the area of 128.42 km.It has a population of about 887,446.


ECONOMIC GROWTH:
After independence Mysore has seen a balanced growth in the past many years.the main areas that contribute to the economy of the city are the tourism industry,IT,forest based industries.Most of the major companies include here are Wipro,Infosis etc.Manufacturing sector has also seen a rapid growth in the region.
Agriculture has always been the backbone of the economy of any Indian city and state. Mysore is no exception. The soil is good for the cultivation of grains and other agricultural products. The two major rivers, Kaveri and Kabini, is used to meet up the requirement of the irrigation needs for the farmers. The dams are built in the river at places, to cope up with the water shortage during the summers. Some of the major crops grown here are cotton, grams, groundnut, jowar, maize, ragi, rice, sugarcane, sunflower and tur. The harvests are transported via truck to the national market to other big cities. The products from the countryside areas are brought through the tempos to the city by the farmers to get better price as the market here is big. The city has been attracting more investors and a lot of Indian and Foreign companies are planning to set up their facilities in this beautiful city.the city is also less polluted in the country drawing attention from both the investors and tourists.The city has contributed about RS 1363 crore to Karnataka's IT exports.

TRANSPORT SERVICES:
BY MEANS OF AIR:The nearest major airport to Mysore is the new Bangalore International Airport, which is about 170 kilometres away. Bangalore itself is very well-connected to all major cities in India. It takes about three hours by road to reach Mysore from Bangalore. You can take a KSRTC bus, a train or a taxi from Bangalore.

BY MEANS OF RAIL:
Mysore is very well connected by rail throughout the region and the railway station is just about 2 kilometres from the city centre. You will find many express trains between Bangalore and Mysore that cover the distance between the two cities in about three hours. Bangalore itself is very well-connected to most other cities in India. Some of the trains plying between the two nodes include Tippu Express, Chamundi Express, Kaveri Express and Mysore Express.

BY MEANS OF ROAD:
State Highway 17 (SH-17) is a state highway connecting the cities of Bangalore and Mysore in the south Indian state of Karnataka. The highway has a total length of 149 kilometres (93 mi). It was built and maintained by the Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited and inaugurated in 2003. The highway passes through  RamanagaraChannapatnaMaddurMandya and Srirangapatna (Seringapattinam), before entering Mysore. The road is dual carriageway and passes over the Kaveri river.

BY MEANS OF BUS:
You can also take the bus from Kempegowda Bus Station in Majestic (near the Bangalore City Railway Station) to Mysore. There are several options of state transport buses as well as private tour operators. Tickets are easily available at the bus station ticket counters.
