It is a state in western India having its coastline along the Arabian sea.

Lying on the western coast of Indian Peninsula,Goa is a mix of natural and cultural heritage.Until the year 1961,Goa was under the Portuguese rule that greatly influenced its architecture and lifestyle.Sun-kissed sand, the azure Arabian sea and clear blue skies, all of it beckons thousands of tourists to this spot. There is a wide range of hotels for visitors where tourist feels the comfort of home.
This lively state offers spectacular landscapes and a number of tangible and intangible attractions to its visitors.the Dudhsagar waterfall located on Mandovi river is one of the popular place of Goa.This 4 tiered,600 metres high waterfall gushes down with astounding force and magnificance, rendering itself a sight to behold.Tourists flock the idyllic beaches of the state including Morjim,Chapora, and Anjuna. The visit to Cathedral,Basilica of Bom Jesus and Shantadurga temple are also worth visiting places in Goa.It has also famous forts, museums, heritage mansions,rock-art.
Economic growth:
Goa's economic growth is mainly because of different occupations like mining, pharmaceuticals ,tourism etc.according to the reports the economic gain has increased a lot inspite of ban on various iron-ore exports .It has lead to an increase of 7.71%.The main reason behind this was because of improvements in the fields of agricultural and various occupational sectors.the economy in the state of goa also gets its revenue from the industrail sector.many industries manufactures tyre, fertilizers, chemicals.the state also has a very useful sea network by which they are able to export their products in foreign countries. This has boosted the industrial sector in many ways.
Its revenue also depends on mining sector where the the production of minerals like iron-ore,clay etc is done.It is the 2 nd biggest industry in the state.
The minerals are then transported for processing to other manufacturing industries and production units across the nation. There are some downsides of these mineral reserves as well. Rampant mining has been depleting the forest cover as well as posing a health hazard to the local population.

As of 2013 Goa was a destination of choice for Indian and foreign tourists, particularly Britons and Russians, with limited means who wanted to party. The state was hopeful that changes could be made which would attract a more upscale demographic.

Agriculture, while of shrinking importance to the economy over the past four decades (mainly due to inefficient rainfall, unavailability of water for irrigation), offers part-time employment to a sizeable portion of the populace. Rice is the main agricultural crop, followed by cashew and coconut.
The economy also depends the most on the tourism sector.it has about 12% foreigners that visit the place. This sector has contributed a lot to the state economy.Currently there are 16 planned SEZs in Goa, which are the major reason for the investments and the cash inflow into the market. However, The Goa government has recently decided to not allow any more special economic zones (SEZs) in Goa after strong opposition to them by political parties and the powerful Goa Catholic Church.
