Bhopal is the capital of the Madhya Pradesh which is well known for its scenic beauty and also known as city of lakes.It has been a city in which one find traces of culture as different as that of hindus,muslims etc.It is 741 kms from delhi,789 km from Mumbai and about 200 km from Indore.It is the 17th largestcity in the country and 131st in the world.It has been selected as one of the first twenty Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under PM Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission  and will be the first smart city of India in coming years. The city has been adjudged as the 21st cleanest city in India.




ECONOMY:
The economy of Bhopal is mainly due to its industrial sector.Its economic growth has attracted a lot of investors towards it.After the Bhopal gas tragedy,it has a lot of investment in the public as well as private sector.Some of the industries include cotton,electrical goods,chemicals etc.The entire state has witnessed an immense growth in infrastructure over the last few years.The government has many plans towards the growth of many centers.This city is also well known for its education and engineering sectors.Other industries include cotton and flour milling, cloth weaving and painting, as well as making matches, sealing wax, and sporting equipment. Many new avenues of business are coming up by giving Bhopal a tag of ever growing city in India.Mandideep is an industrial suburb of Bhopal. It is located to the south of the city on the NH 12. Mandideep's total exports are worth some 2,300 crore rupees ($500m; £300m) per year, making it the largest industrial area in Madhya Pradesh. The town is home to Hindustan Electo Graphite (HEG), owning the largest graphite electrode plant in the world and is the largest industrial company in the entire state. Hindustan Electro Graphite (HEG) and Lupin Laboratories ltd. are the dominant companies in the suburb.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
BY MEANS OF AIR:
The Rajabhoj International Airport is located near the satellite hub.It has both international as well as domestic flights.Domestic direct flight services operate from Jet Airways, JetKonnect and Air India. As of July 2016, Bhopal has non-stop flights to New Delhi, Mumbai, Jabalpur and Raipur and direct flights to Pune and Hyderabad. 


BY MEANS OF RAIL:
Bhopal lies in the West Central Railway Zone. Considering both North-South and East-West train routes, it is one of the most rail connected cities in India which halts more than 200 daily trains, with a total of more than 380 trains within a week. The main stations of Bhopal are the Bhopal Junction station located in old Bhopal as well as Bhopal Habibganj station located in new Bhopal.It is on one of the two main lines Delhi-Mumbai and to the southern capitals of Chennai,Hyderabad etc.
